Sept. 15, 2013: New deadline to apply
We have good news for academic and CTE educators who would like to participate in the Fall 2013 UC Curriculum Integration Institutes! Due to popular demand, the deadline to apply has been extended. The new deadline is 11:59 p.m. on September 15, 2013.
The Fall 2013 UC Curriculum Integration (UCCI) Institutes will be held November 7 – 10, at the Bahia Resort in San Diego. Accepted applicants will work together in small teams, with each team developing the outline for one integrated course:
Fall 2013 UCCI Institute #1
- English with Health Science and Medical Technology (HSMT) – four teams, each developing one integrated English/HSMT course for a 9th – 12th grade sequence of courses, with the 9th grade course being an ELD course
Fall 2013 UCCI Institute #2
- Math with HSMT – two teams, each developing an integrated math/HSMT course connected to the biotechnology pathway
- Lab Science with HSMT – two teams, each developing an integrated lab science/HSMT course connected to the biotechnology pathway
All UCCI courses are created to align with the Common Core State Standards as well as the newly updated CTE sector standards. Schools may add approved UCCI courses to their course lists and teach them without having to submit them again for UC’s “a-g” approval. Because they are “a-g” approved, all UCCI courses count toward students’ college admission eligibility.
