Upcoming UCCI Institutes!

UCCI will be hosting two 3-day UCCI Institutes in June, 2016--one in Northern California (at Dominican University in San Rafael) and one in Southern California (at the Belamar Hotel in Los Angeles), and you're invited! At the UCCI Institutes, teams of academic and CTE teachers collaborate to develop dynamic integrated courses that help prepare students for college and careers. UCCI staff facilitate this work, ensuring the courses meet the criteria for UC designation in the "a-g" subject areas.

Join us at the Institutes!

We are hosting these two Institutes so that schools/districts/county offices of education can bring their own course development team(s) to create integrated courses of their choosing. Each course development team creates one integrated course, with training, guidance and support from UCCI staff. This is a great opportunity to develop the integrated courses you need in an environment designed to foster success.

Things to Know
  • Each team should be balanced between teachers with academic content knowledge and experience and CTE content knowledge and experience.
  • The UCCI Institute experience is entirely collaborative, so participants should be ready to create something entirely new with the help of others, not something they already do on their own in their respective classrooms.
  • The courses will be approved in the corresponding “a-g” area (e.g. math, history, lab science, etc.), and then made available (via the UCCI course catalog) to any other secondary education institution that wants to offer it.
Cost to participate
There is no cost for teacher attendance/participation, and a working lunch is provided by UCCI each day.

“I've gained more from this institute in regards to curriculum development than any other program I've been associated with in my 12 years of teaching.”
